ETHICAL POLICIES

Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

At the International Journal of Economic and Management Decisions, we are committed to upholding the highest standards of ethical publishing practices.

Our publication ethics are based on the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing and the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

All parties involved — editors, reviewers, and authors — are expected to adhere to these principles to ensure the integrity and quality of the scientific record.

Duties of Editors

The Editor-in-Chief and editorial team of International Journal of Economic and Management Decisions are responsible for evaluating all manuscripts based solely on their academic merit, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal's scope, without regard to race, gender, nationality, religious beliefs, or political philosophy.

  • All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer-review by at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant fields of economics, management, finance, and entrepreneurship.
  • The final decision to accept or reject a manuscript rests with the Editor-in-Chief, based on the scientific validity, importance to the research community, reviewers' feedback, and applicable legal requirements, such as libel and copyright infringement.
  • Editors guarantee the confidentiality of all submitted materials and reviewer identities.
  • Editors will not use unpublished materials disclosed in a manuscript for their own research without the author's explicit written consent.
  • In cases of suspected ethical misconduct, the Editor will initiate investigations and, when necessary, issue corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern.

Duties of Reviewers

Peer reviewers play a critical role in maintaining the scientific quality and integrity of the International Journal of Economic and Management Decisions.

  • Reviews must be objective, constructive, and free from personal bias.
  • Reviewers must assess the validity of the methodology, the reliability of results, and the ethical standards of the research.
  • Reviewers must disclose any conflict of interest before agreeing to review a submission.
  • Suggestions to cite the reviewer's own work must be justified on scientific grounds and not aimed at boosting citation counts.
  • All manuscripts must be treated as confidential documents. Reviewers must not share or discuss the paper with others without prior authorization from the editor.

Duties of Authors

Authors submitting to International Journal of Economic and Management Decisions must adhere to the following ethical standards:

  • Manuscripts must represent original research and must not have been published or submitted elsewhere.
  • Authors are required to participate actively in the peer-review process and respond promptly to editorial queries.
  • Accurate reporting of methods, results, and interpretations is mandatory. Fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism are strictly prohibited.
  • Authors must properly cite all sources and obtain permission for any copyrighted material.
  • Multiple, redundant, or concurrent submissions to other journals are considered unethical.
  • All individuals who have made substantial contributions must be listed as co-authors. Others should be acknowledged appropriately.
  • Authors must disclose all sources of financial support for their research and clearly state any potential conflicts of interest.
  • In case of major errors discovered post-publication, authors must promptly notify the editor to initiate corrections or retractions.

Plagiarism and Research Misconduct

International Journal of Economic and Management Decisions maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism and unethical practices.

All submissions are screened using plagiarism detection software.

Confirmed cases of plagiarism, data fabrication, or manipulation will lead to immediate rejection or retraction of the article, and authors may be subject to further disciplinary measures.

  • Issue corrections for honest errors.
